Dear Megan,
What falsies do celebrities use? They always look so real on the red carpet!
– Katie M.
Oh the life of the rich and famous. The clothes, the parties, the glamour and, most importantly, the lashes! For decades we have obsessed over celebrity makeup looks, and tried (unsuccessfully in my case) to recreate them ourselves. Thankfully with the rise of social media, more and more celebrity makeup artists are sharing all of our favorite celebrities makeup tips and tricks. They are spilling all the tea on what products they use to achieve those coveted looks. Since I am obsessed with eyelashes, one of my favorite things to research is which false lashes the celebrities are wearing. Whether or not I wear them myself is something different altogether. A girls’ still gotta be in the know, ya’know?
So if you’ve ever been curious about which falsies celebs like Kylie Jenner and Beyonce are rocking- keep on reading! Maybe you’ll be able to harness a little bit of that star power yourself! Finally, take it all with a grain of salt. Advertisers are getting more and more sneaky these days, and nothing works better than a subtle celeb product placement. Without further ado:
Beyonce’s Falsie Picks
Queen Bey loves her mink lashes. It’s rumored that she buys them in bulk so they’re always on hand for a concert or red carpet. She was introduced to them by makeup artist Wei Lang, who revealed in NY Mag’s The Cut that “She really does like liners, and she asks for that a lot, and lashes. And I always use mink lashes on her. They look amazing. I use strips by Velour called “Are Those Real?” and I got her really into it, so she buys them by the ton.” (source)
Kim Kardashian’s Top Falsie Pick
Kim’s curves (or should I say kurves?) aren’t the only enviable trait she possesses. Kim is always glammed up from head to toe, and always rocking some seriously killer lashes. Her makeup artist Hrush Achemyan has created a following of her own as the Kardashian/Jenner sisters on-call makeup artist. While Hrush hand makes the extensions herself, she does offer suggestions for those who want to achieve Kim’s perfectly spaced lash look. “For an extra-wispy effect, apply Huda Beauty Alyssa #2 lashes onto a full set of fake lashes. When you apply mascara to the lashes, make sure you start right under your tear duct and that the mascara starts right at the bottom of your lash. Also, don’t apply mascara straight up your lashes; wiggle the wand up them. I do about three strokes on each eye and that is it.” (source)
Kylie Jenner’s Top Falsie Pick
Speaking of the Kardashians, baby sis Kylie has created quite a name for herself in the beauty industry. Her lip kits sell out in minutes online, and her selfies generate millions of likes per day. So what’s her go to false lash? Surprisingly Kylie wears Ardell Wispies which are available at pretty much any drug store. Kylie is also a huge fan of Lilly Lashes. She posed with her favorite pair in September saying “Everyone always wants to know what lashes I wear. My favorites are Lilly Lashes. Today I’m wearing 3D Style Miami.” (source)
Rita Ora’s Top Falsie Pick
British songstress Rita Ora is among many celebrities who have recently fallen in love with the lash brand Artémes Lashes. She, along with Sarah Hyland, and Tove Lo have been pictured on the red carpet rocking these natural mink lashes. The brand offers 18 different types of lashes, but the favorite among Hollywood’s hottest are “Mistaken Identity” and “Love Addict.” (source)
