It’s no secret that skincare is expensive, and face oils are no exception.
A good beauty oil uses the best ingredients and doesn’t add any unnecessary fillers or fragrances. Because of this, things can get a little costly. Unlike most other skincare products though, beauty oil can be used in a variety of ways. Here are some useful ideas that will help you in a pinch and allow you to get more bang for your buck! We have heard from all of you about creative uses of REWIND and SHINE and I have tested each use listed below.
Here are the best ways to repurpose your face oil:
Use Face Oil On: Your Cuticles and Hands
We put our hands through a lot during the day. In particular, constantly washing them can cause dryness and irritation. Try adding a couple drops of face oil into your favorite hand lotion. Doing this will not only make the application smoother, but also add an extra boost of moisture to your skin.
You can also apply the oil straight to your cuticles to help with dry skin and hangnails.
Use Face Oil On: Your Hair
Organic Oil is incredibly beneficial for your hair. You can use it as a leave in conditioner after you get out of the shower, or to tame fly aways on dry hair. If your hair is dry and brittle, you can use it as an overnight treatment once a week. When you use REWIND or SHINE you also get an amazing smell in your hair.
Apply the oil to your hands then run it through dry hair from root to tip. Once the oil has been applied, wrap your hair up in a shower cap and go to bed. In the morning rinse your hair and you’re good to go!
Additionally, if it’s been too long between trims, you can use a bit of face oil on your ends to add some moisture and liveliness to them (just don’t overdo it!).
Use Face Oil With: Your Foundation
Highlighters have taken over the beauty scene and everyone wants that coveted dewy look. One of the best ways to get it, is to start with a dewy base. Enter: face oil!
You can either apply it to your skin before your makeup (being sure to let it soak in), mix it in with your foundation, or apply it to your beauty blender or brush before blending. Either way the results are a beautiful, healthy glow.
You can also use the face oil to highlight key areas like your cheekbones.
Use Face Oil To: Remove Makeup
While face oil is awesome for mixing in with foundation, it’s even better at taking it off!
The ‘Double Cleanse Method’ is a game changing way to clean your face. Popularized by Korean Skincare companies, this method uses the theory that ‘like attracts like.’ Using an oil based cleanser will melt off your makeup, and remove all oil based dirt from the skin. You should then rinse the oil off with lukewarm water, and then follow with a traditional cleanser.
Use Face Oil To: Make a Face, Hand and Lip Scrub.
Take about a teaspoon of sugar and place it in your palm, then add a few drops of face oil. Mix the sugar with the oil and gently rub on your face, neck, hands even lips. You can rinse off with warm water and pat dry. Your skin will have a nice glow and smell amazing! I do this with REWIND or SHINE about once a week.
Use Face Oil To: Nourish your Skin from Head to Toe
Okay, this is indulgent but sooo good. It would be costly to do this regularly but if your skin is very dry or you have a special occasion try applying a few drops of face oil to your damp skin right after you get out of the shower. Rub the oil onto your skin gently, you can apply more to those key dry spots or stretch marks. Your skin will be left moisturized and smelling heavenly. I like to do this before a special night out.
