Hello! It’s Megan here, checking in from Thailand.

This spring, I’ll be traveling around Asia looking for the best-kept beauty secrets. I’ll be chatting with locals about what beauty rituals and natural ingredients they use, and I’ll be trying them out for you, right here on the blog.

From medicine to beauty to almost anything you can imagine–life is just a little different on the east side. Asian countries have a long, rich history in health and beauty. Big, global beauty brands are starting to gain market share here in Asia, but the people still have their own way of doing things. I want to make sure we explore that before it’s lost. I’m very excited to see what we can learn and uncover.

My quest for the best kept beauty secrets begins today in Thailand. The picture above is where I’m staying now, in Phuket.

Thailand is a beautiful country with open-minded people and plenty of fresh exotic flowers and fruits, so I am really excited to see what I can find (and make!) during my stay here. They have a long history with massage (accupressure) and I am excited to explore that as well.

After Phuket, I’ll be heading to northern Thailand to make sure I didn’t miss out on anything in the south.

After Thailand, I’ll be heading briefly to Cambodia and Vietnam. I have no idea what I’ll find, but I’m always searching and I’ll keep an open mind to everything, even the taboo.

After all of this, I’ll head back to China before returning to the States. I’ve been back and forth to China for over a year now, but I believe there’s still a secret or two to uncover there. We’ll see when I return!
