While the beauty forecast for 2020 called for thinner, skinny brows it seems women are not ready to go in that direction. I for one, am glad as its tough to get your thick natural brows back after removing them, especially when your older. As we previously predicted it seems some of the existing brow enhancement options are evolving. One of the latest and hottest evolutions is the Ombre Powder Brow. Many are loving this new technique. Let’s get into the details:
What is Ombre Powder Brows?
The ombre powder brow is a new tattoo technique which deposits hundreds of tiny dots of ink into your upper skin layers creating the perfect ombre brow. The technique is achieved using a machine, not unlike one your tattoo artist would use. It’s called a powder brow because the effect is more natural and gradual than microblading or other beauty options. The ombre powder brow process allows the technician and client to build layers of color, either lighter or darker, as preferred.
What makes Ombre Powder Brow better?
- Longer lasting results – lasts 2-3 years and most clients come back for color boosts closer to the 12-18month mark.
- Works with all skin types -including oily or combination skin
- Looks better -Brow is fuller and more defined than other methods. You can also create the ombre effect by building up or applying less pigment.
- Less pain & bleeding -less painful due to the airbrush-like technique we apply, which creates less trauma to the skin vs. the blading technique of microblading.
How is the procedure done?
The ombre powder brow treatment is a form of tattooing, but it is different from the traditional micro blading or tattoo method. This method focuses on the epidermis or surface layer of the skin. It was actually challenging to find some good before and after pictures but we thought the best ones were on et online. Actual consumers posted their images.
Whats the difference between microblading and Ombre powder?
One of the most important differences between microblading and ombré powder brows is the tool. While micro balding uses a blade the ombre process uses a handheld needle similar to the one a tattoo artist would use. The technician deposits hundreds of tiny dots of pigment into the upper layers of skin, layering the color gradually to achieve the ideal shade.
How long do they last?
A single session of Ombre powder brow treatment typically last a bit longer than microblading; on average 2-3 years. It’s important to note that results can vary based on lifestyle, skin type and overall health.
Does the Ombre Powder Brow Fade?
The ombre powder bros treatment acts much like other tattoos so you can expect a recovery period (2-3 weeks) followed by a fade of about 50% over time which will settle to your desired shade and pigmentation.
How Much Does Powder Brows Cost?
The average price of powder brow treatment is around $500.
Where can I get it done?
Since this is a new technique you will need to research in your area for the best option. I am based in Charlotte and there are only a few providers. The more progressive beauty brow locations are adopting the new treatment but it does require a specific skill set so not everyone is offering it early on. As with any semi-permanent treatment it is important to investigate the location, the stylist and examples of before and after. It’s a relatively large investment and your going to have to live with it for 2-3 years.
